Precipitation estimates at a spatial resolution of one degree latitude-longitude at a daily time scale from October 1996 to present day.

Dataset Name: global precipitation climatology project gpcp daily
Dataset DOI/URL: http://doi.org/10.7289/V5RX998Z
Dataset descriptor article: : https://www1.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/data/sds/cdr/CDRs/Precipitation_GPCP-Daily/AlgorithmDescription_01B-35.pdf
Dataset API: https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/data/global-precipitation-climatology-project-gpcp-daily/access/
Example uses of dataset: Characterizing changes to precipitation, identifying climate extremes, validation for other climate observations. This data can also be used in conjunction with other datasets such as HISDAC-US BUI and/or surface temperature layers to characterize the interaction of built up areas on local precipitation patterns.
